The Opportunity:
As a Teaching Assistant Level 1, you will play a key role in supporting students aged 11–16 in their academic and personal development. You will work closely with teachers to help remove barriers to learning and ensure all students have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with literacy and numeracy through targeted interventions and individualized learning strategies.
- Assist in planning and delivering classroom activities that promote student engagement and learning.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to identify and address barriers to learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a consistent approach to student support.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student confidence and participation.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and support school initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience working with young people aged 11–16 years.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to supporting student learning and development.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of learning support strategies and inclusive education practices.
- Experience with special educational needs or English as a Second Language (ESOL).
- Relevant qualifications in education or related fields.
