The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly qualified Teaching Assistant Level 4 (SEN) to support students with complex needs in a dynamic and supportive environment. This fixed-term role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and development while working within a school that values professional growth and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cover for whole classes during teacher absences, including planning, preparing, and delivering learning programmes.
  • Assess student needs and use specialist knowledge to support learning and address barriers to learning.
  • Build positive relationships with students and model appropriate behaviour and responses.
  • Encourage student interaction and cooperation in group and individual activities.
  • Support the development and implementation of individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans.
  • Participate in student assessments and provide detailed, accurate feedback to teachers.
  • Record and report on student progress, achievement, and attendance systematically.
  • Deliver and adapt learning activities to meet individual student needs and ensure inclusive learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Extensive experience supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, communication challenges, and complex learning needs.
  • Proven ability to plan and lead teaching and learning activities.
  • Strong understanding of diverse pupil needs and strategies to support them.
  • Numeracy and Literacy skills to Level 2 (GCSE grades 9 to 4/A*-C) or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification or experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students with severe, profound, or complex learning needs.
  • Background in SEN support or special educational needs.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual support plans.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
