The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of Individual Learning Plans under the supervision of teachers.
  • Provide regular feedback to class teachers and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Assist with the supervision of small groups of pupils when teachers are not present.
  • Promote equality and ensure all pupils have access to learning opportunities.
  • Participate in training to develop effective learning strategies and support student progress.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development and performance management.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently in spoken English to support students and colleagues.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualification in literacy and numeracy.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with communication, severe, profound, or complex learning difficulties.
  • Experience in a special educational needs setting.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching practices.
