The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Music team. This role is integral to supporting students in their musical development, with a focus on preparing practical lessons and providing individual and group support. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative, and committed to raising academic standards and student confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver practical music lessons under the guidance of the teacher
  • Support students individually and in small groups during class time
  • Assist in the organisation and management of music-related activities and events
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans
  • Provide pastoral support to students in line with the school's caring ethos
  • Contribute to the school's mission of fostering confidence and love in education
  • Participate in the school's programme of professional development and training
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a school environment, preferably in a creative department
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and values
  • Ability to work flexibly and support students of all abilities
  • Good organisational and time management skills

Preferred

  • Experience in music education or related field
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Knowledge of music theory and practical performance
  • Experience with NVQ qualifications or willingness to pursue further training
