The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Music team. This role is integral to supporting students in their musical development, with a focus on preparing practical lessons and providing individual and group support. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative, and committed to raising academic standards and student confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver practical music lessons under the guidance of the teacher
- Support students individually and in small groups during class time
- Assist in the organisation and management of music-related activities and events
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans
- Provide pastoral support to students in line with the school's caring ethos
- Contribute to the school's mission of fostering confidence and love in education
- Participate in the school's programme of professional development and training
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working in a school environment, preferably in a creative department
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to the school’s mission and values
- Ability to work flexibly and support students of all abilities
- Good organisational and time management skills
Preferred
- Experience in music education or related field
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Knowledge of music theory and practical performance
- Experience with NVQ qualifications or willingness to pursue further training
