The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant (RE) to support students in Religious Education within a Catholic context. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student learning and to contribute to a school that values inclusion, faith, and educational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering Religious Education lessons to students aged 11-16.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group assistance to students, including those with additional needs.
  • Assist in planning and preparing resources for RE lessons.
  • Deliver lesson cover in RE after appropriate training.
  • Engage in professional development and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure the use of high-quality teaching resources and materials aligned with Catholic values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 qualification or equivalent in education or a relevant field.
  • Experience in supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong knowledge of Religious Education in a Catholic context.
  • Commitment to inclusion and the welfare of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or supporting learning in a school setting.
  • Familiarity with Catholic teachings and values.
  • Experience with CPD and professional development programs.
  • Background in arts or education leadership.
