The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic and creative Drama Department as a Trainee Drama Teacher, starting in September 2026. This two-year training programme offers hands-on classroom experience, involvement in theatre productions, and professional development to prepare you for formal teacher training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons to students across all age groups.
  • Collaborate with experienced teachers and theatre technicians to support high-quality theatre productions.
  • Support students’ academic and cocurricular development through drama and performance.
  • Participate in pastoral care and mentorship activities to build strong relationships with students.
  • Attend and contribute to departmental meetings, planning, and professional development sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
  • Assist in the organisation and delivery of extra-curricular drama activities.
  • Work closely with educational mentors to enhance teaching and leadership skills.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recent graduate with a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or Performing Arts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working with young people and a passion for drama education.
  • Willingness to participate in a two-year training programme.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or working with children.
  • Knowledge of drama pedagogy and curriculum design.
  • Involvement in theatre or performance-related activities.
  • Experience with pastoral care or student mentorship.
