The Opportunity:

As Vice Principal - Behaviour, Attendance and Safeguarding, you will lead and shape strategic initiatives that drive excellence in student behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes and school culture, working alongside a passionate and experienced leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust systems to improve student behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding practices.
  • Provide strategic oversight and leadership across key pastoral systems, ensuring consistency and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of high expectations, inclusivity, and strong relationships between students, staff, and families.
  • Collaborate with the Principal and leadership team to drive a positive and purposeful learning environment.
  • Champion safeguarding and student well-being, ensuring all students feel safe, supported, and empowered.
  • Build effective partnerships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to support student success.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives, using data to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating integrity, resilience, and a commitment to the school’s values and vision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in senior leadership, with a focus on behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding.
  • Strong track record of driving improvement in student outcomes and school culture.
  • Deep understanding of pastoral systems and effective leadership practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with relevant experience and training.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external partners.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or academy trust with a strong focus on student resilience and achievement.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement frameworks.
  • Experience in leading professional development for staff.
  • Knowledge of innovative approaches to student engagement and well-being.
