Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development of a high-achieving academic culture across the school.
  • Work closely with the Principal and leadership team to implement school-wide strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversee and support the development of staff, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects.
  • Embed the school’s values and character traits into the daily life of the school community.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring that all pupils are challenged and supported to reach their potential.
  • Manage and develop the school’s pastoral and academic systems to ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to enhance the school’s profile and impact in the local community.
  • Support the planning and implementation of a curriculum designed to prepare students for university and beyond.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • A deep understanding of curriculum development and academic standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on character development and student well-being.
  • Background in curriculum planning with a focus on university readiness.
  • Experience of working in a school with a diverse student population.
  • A track record of driving improvement and achieving high academic outcomes.
