The Opportunity:

A Wellbeing Counsellor is needed to support the personal, social, and emotional development of students across all phases of the school. This role is central to promoting a culture of wellbeing, empathy, and inclusion, ensuring that every student feels supported and valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and small-group counselling tailored to students’ emotional, social, and psychological needs.
• Support students in navigating challenges such as anxiety, stress, and personal issues with timely, non-judgmental care.
• Foster resilience, emotional intelligence, and healthy coping strategies in students.
• Identify students at risk or vulnerable and provide early interventions and referrals.
• Build strong relationships with parents through community-building initiatives and events.
• Deliver culturally sensitive and inclusive parent engagement experiences.
• Support new families in feeling welcomed and connected from the start.
• Collaborate with leadership and staff to cultivate a supportive school culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Recognised counselling qualification or certification (e.g., BACP, Certified School Counsellor).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a school counsellor or in a related role.
• Knowledge of local safeguarding laws and child protection standards.

Preferred

• Experience within an international or National Curriculum for England school.
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
