The Opportunity:

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the emotional and psychological wellbeing of autistic children and young people aged 4-19. This is a dynamic and impactful position that contributes directly to the school’s mission of empowering learners to thrive and self-advocate in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver holistic wellbeing assessments and interventions under the guidance of the Wellbeing Lead Practitioner
  • Manage a caseload of students and provide support to teaching staff and therapists in various environments
  • Identify and address wellbeing issues affecting learners and support class teams with targeted interventions and resources
  • Model and promote the school’s trans-disciplinary approach and LEARN ethos in daily practice
  • Maintain and develop specialist wellbeing rooms and resources to support positive emotional regulation
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to create and implement regulation and wellbeing plans that support learning outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, families, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with autistic children and young people
  • Ability to work with learners aged 4-19 in a trans-disciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding and experience with the Self-Reg approach
  • Ability to manage challenging situations with confidentiality and sensitivity
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and values

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering wellbeing interventions and support
  • Background in education or therapeutic support
  • Experience with crisis support and individualised wellbeing planning
  • Knowledge of education health and care plans
