The Opportunity:
As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting the emotional and psychological wellbeing of autistic children and young people aged 4-19. This is a dynamic and impactful position that contributes directly to the school’s mission of empowering learners to thrive and self-advocate in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver holistic wellbeing assessments and interventions under the guidance of the Wellbeing Lead Practitioner
- Manage a caseload of students and provide support to teaching staff and therapists in various environments
- Identify and address wellbeing issues affecting learners and support class teams with targeted interventions and resources
- Model and promote the school’s trans-disciplinary approach and LEARN ethos in daily practice
- Maintain and develop specialist wellbeing rooms and resources to support positive emotional regulation
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to create and implement regulation and wellbeing plans that support learning outcomes
- Communicate effectively with pupils, families, colleagues, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with autistic children and young people
- Ability to work with learners aged 4-19 in a trans-disciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding and experience with the Self-Reg approach
- Ability to manage challenging situations with confidentiality and sensitivity
- Commitment to the school’s mission and values
Preferred
- Experience in delivering wellbeing interventions and support
- Background in education or therapeutic support
- Experience with crisis support and individualised wellbeing planning
- Knowledge of education health and care plans
